Little Red Riding Hood, a French fairy tale about a young girl and a big bad wolf and thirty three other European tales are featured in this volume of Grimm's tales. Little Red Riding Hood story follows a mean wolf that wants to eat the little girl but is afraid to do so in public. He secretly stalks her behind trees, bushes, and patches of tall grass. Hansel and Gretel are a young brother and sister threatened by a cannibalistic witch living deep in the forest in a house constructed of cake and confectionery. In order to make himself appear more important, a miller lies to a king, telling him that his daughter can spin straw into gold. The king calls for the girl, shuts her in a tower room filled with straw and a spinning wheel, and demands that she spin the straw into gold by morning.
